Rock City (R.City) from the St.Thomas Virgin Island

Rock City, is an American musical duo formed in 2003, from St.Thomas, U.S. Virgin Island. The duo, composed of brothers Theron and Timothy Thomas, who use the stage names A.I. and Uptown AP respectively, and they also are a songwriting and record production team. The duo have also released music under the namesakes Rock City and Planet VI. Their debut album, What Dreams are Made Of  was released in 2015. They are known for their smash worldwide hit “Locked Away” featuring Adam Levine.

After years of working with and writing for others,R.City notched a hit single of their own in the Adam Levine-featured Locked Away. Now, with their debut album What Dreams Are Made Of arriving on October 9th A.I. and Uptown AP connect with Conan O’Brien’s new buddy for a face lift to their Dr. Luke-produced hit.Combining hip-hop, pop, and Caribbean flavors, brothers Theron and Timothy have written hits for Akon, Usher, Sean Kingston, the Pussycat Dolls, Ashlee Simpson, and many others while using the name Rock City, eventually shortened to R. City.

The Thomas brothers have written and produced for several prominent artists including Jamaican singer Sean Kingston . American singer Miley Cyrus. Trinidadian rapper Nicki Minaj and Rihanna .Theron and Timothy Thomas are natives of Saint Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands. Rock City amassed 15 self-released mixtapes between 2008 and 2012, and many of them contained the acronym “PTFAO”  in reference to the fact that the label had not given them a release date for their album. In 2011, the duo parted ways with KonLive and founded their own label imprint called Rebelution Records. They intended to release their debut album, Free At Last, on their own label,but the release date was later pushed back to 2009.
